# [[Notes & Networked Thought]]
### Why
1. To **make notes** (not just take them)
2. To **build & compound personal knowledge** in a format, synonymous to how our brains naturally work
3. To **enjoy our interaction w/ knowledge** (from searching to browsing to collating to connecting to creating)
4. To **remove the structural restrictions** on creative expression via text imposed by the files & folders format
5. To **accelerate [[domain specific sense-making]] & speed to insight ** through using tools that mimic [[synaptic function]] (plasticity & connectivity)
6. To **build collective intelligence (multiple players) & conduct collaborative sense making** through a platform that provides context via sharing your second brain
7. To **graduate our limited dimension interfacing w/ knowledge** from 2 dimensions to Mixed Realities
## How
Use tools like Obsidian / Roam Research to augment our intelligence for solving harder problems. They do this by working more like our brain naturally does. Allowing one to:
- build & browse your personal knowledge [[Maps of Content (MOCs)]], powered by graph databases (no barrier to start if you don't know how your thought fits in and no more long searching)
- have freedom w/ editing as everything is written in markdown
- write w/ linked and un-linked references
- connect past captured thoughts w/ new thoughts to create new ideas by drawing synaptic like connections w/ bidirectional linking
- get compound interest on your made notes given the new context
