Few Actors needed to achieve large emission reductions  - Say you implement a CCS solution with 90% capture, for one 1,000 MW coal-fired power plant that is 6.5 Mt CO2/ year = Improving the efficiency of 2.8 million cars in terms of mpg 5. Expected to contribute about 20% to needed emission reductions 6. Can deliver negative emissions on a large enough scale 1. CCS paired with Bioenergy for power generation or biofuel production 2. Can be applied to coal & gas fired plants to help provide low emissions generation capacity 3. Production of low carbon hydrogen for fuel, heat and transport Excluding CCS from you portfolio of emission reducing technologies would lead to **doubling in cost** (IPCC)
